The Origin of meia.dúzia®
The name of the brand meia.dúzia® Sabores de Portugal emerged on an inspiring visit to the convent of Tibães, in Braga, Portugal. During an exploration in the Monastery's library, after intense research into old and convent recipes for typically Portuguese products, the idea came to life. The term Half Dozen, widely used in traditional recipes, proved to be the perfect name to capture the essence of our mission: to provide authentic and memorable flavor experiences.
The first half-dúzia® product was a pack. with six (half a dozen) traditional flavors of Portugal, each representing a part of the country's rich gastronomic heritage. This initial concept reflected our vision of sharing the best that Portugal has to offer in terms of flavors, in an accessible and innovative way.

Our tasting packages are the heart of the brand. Each pack contains a selection of three or six different flavors, which represent the best of Portuguese cuisine. These flavors are carefully chosen to create a balanced and complete experience.
With the aim of promoting the cultural and gastronomic richness of Portugal, we developed packs that represent different regions of the country. Each pack is a tribute to the typical flavors of these regions, reflecting the diversity and authenticity of Portuguese cuisine, such as PACK Algarve, with flavors that capture the essence of the south, such as fig, almond and orange, offering an experience reminiscent of the sun and to the sea in the region, or the Madeira Pack, inspired by the exotic flavors of the island, with emphasis on banana, passion fruit and pine cone, which bring a tropical touch.
In addition to the regional packs, we also have experience packs, with a selection of flavors ideal for Cheese, Meat, Sushi, etc.
Thematic packs explore different aspects of Portuguese gastronomy, from jams to chocolates, including honeys and liqueurs.
